Café Dillema – hadracha dilemmas

Goals: to get the chanichim to think about some of the problems and issues hadracha faces them with; get a peula done with a party (pizza, cookies, drinks, hot cocoa, whatever)

Tools: excerpts about the dilemmas (preferably from chovrot hadracha), note-cards to put on tables, stuff for party

Suitable for Shabbat

split into four-five tables, each one a station. In each station a different madrich will sit and lead the discussion. In each table there will be a note-card noting the different points and questions relating to the issues. You will have the option to read the excerpt if time allows and if there’s interest. Suggested time for each station: 10 minutes tops.

Conclusion: emphasize that during their years of activism/hadracha they will have a lot of choices to make and they might not always realize it. It’s important to pay attention to those small details because they might make a difference to someone or in something.

Suggested activity: (This part not suitable for Shabbat) watch the movie “Courage Under Fire” that deals with many dilemmas of a woman commander in the military.
