Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi

The idea this week is to teach the kids something about Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi.  First you should give information about kibbutzim in general and/or specifically Tirat Tzvi.  Start with general information about kibbutzim in Israel.  The word kibbutz means community.  The first kibbutz was formed in 1909 by 30 people form Europe and named kibbutz degania. During the 20’s and 30’s, the kibbutz movement grew and small industries began to appear in these rural communities in Israel.  Form them until now, the kibbutz movement has become huge and now there are 269 kibbutzim in Israel with roughly 120,500 people spread out among them. Today’s kibbutz is kibbutz Tirat Tzvi, located near bet shean in the north. It was built it 1937.  It was named after Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Kalisher, one of the forerunners of Zionism.  Some of the services available at the kibbutz are: dining room, laundry, hairdresser, cosmetician, garage, carpentry and metal shops, nurseries and kindergartens, infirmary, dental clinic, physiotherapy, alternative medicine, mini-market.

Parsha:  (Even though we have already done a few parsha questions during jeapordy, come up with a few more so the kids can try and get candy.  If you can’t think of anything start asking kids random questions such as what is Yitzi’s favorite food.)  This weeks parsha is Lech Lecha.  Some questions would include: What did lot’s wife do that caused her to turn into salt, or what did Avram’s name become, or what was brit ben habetarim.

Todays game is zap zorch McFigiliano, but if that gets boring play steal the bacon.  (Everyone should be like Chicago and use a stuffed pig for the bacon)

Zap Zorch

Three or more players required. Get in to a circle. POINTING IS MANDATORY!!!! And yells a command

ZAP: can only point to the player directly next to him (right or left) then it goes to them.

ZORCH: points to the person on their left goes to right and vice versa

MIFUGALIANO: wild, can point to any one in the circle and it goes to them. One can not mifugaliano the person next to them. No mifuglianoing when three people or less.

BOING.  The only time some one can say boing is when they've been  mifugaliano'd. it sends it back to the person who mifugaliano'd them.

If the person who got a command stalls more then 3 seconds or someone does a command when its  not their turn they are out.

Shabbat Shalom to all you madirchim, good luck with the peulah and if u have any questions give me a call 773-465-8258
