Israel Immigration

Hey guys here’s the peula:

We’re gonna start with a game of bang, because everyone likes bang!

Next we will play “Im going to Israel….” In case you didn’t know, in this game the kids sit in a circle and each of them say “Im going to Israel, and Im bringing with me (something the kids want to bring with them, because they are pretending to be immigrants to Israel and can only bring one thing with them on the crowded boat (remember to stress that)) Then the next kid says “Im going to Israel and Im brining with me (the one thing they would bring, AND the thing the kid before them said) This goes around the circle, and the last kid must remember what everything said.

Now, we are going to teach the kids some background information about the early history of Israel, so they can understand the importance of the game we just played. Datya will find some small paragraphs summarizing the history, which I will send to you tomorrow. Please do not forget to print that out also. Tomorrow I will include questions about these paragraphs, so we will be able to play a question game with the kids. We will put off “Who wants to be an Israeli” until the end, when we can have more fun with it. You can decide what you want to do with the questions, reward them with candy, taf tickets, or something (don’t worry, I will figure this out before shabbat)

Next is a game called “Immigration” One kid will volunteer, and he will be a british officer standing on the opposite end of the room of the rest of the kids. When he is ready, the madrich will yell “The british are coming!!”  Then the kid will run to the other side, while the rest of the kids run to his side. Whoever he tags becomes a British Officer also. This continues until there is only 1 kid left from the “Jews”. He is the winner.

Then, if you have time, you can end with whichever game you choose: Wax museum, indian chief, steal the jewels…..

Shabbat Shalom!

Since this is my first week really writing the peulah, it may be a little unclear. Email me with any questions. Or call 464-4264.
